About Us

MEET MRS. LISA

Teaching with Heart. Rooted in Faith. Growing with Purpose.

I'm the owner and lead teacher at Little Sprouts Learn & Play Preschool.

With nearly 20 years of experience and a Master's degree in Education, I created Little Sprouts to be the kind of preschool I want for my own children... a beautiful place where they feel loved, families feel supported, and learning experiences are engaging, intentional and meaningful.

What are we growing at Little Sprouts?

Growing

Curious Minds

Nurturing strong Christian roots through prayer, conversations about God and Jesus Christ, and age-appropriate Scripture. Children will learn biblical principles that encourage kindness, gratitude, responsibility, wisdom, and Christ-like character in everyday life.

Growing

Confident Kids

Building confidence through independence, communication, problem-solving, and everyday accomplishments. Children are encouraged to try new things, express themselves, make thoughtful choices, and develop a strong belief in themselves and what they can do.

Growing

Ready Learners

Nurturing a love of learning through hands-on exploration, thoughtful questions, and meaningful discovery. Children build early literacy, math, science, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills while growing in confidence, independence, and curiosity.

Growing

Faithful Hearts

Nurturing strong Christian roots through prayer, conversations about God and Jesus Christ, and age-appropriate Scripture. Children will learn biblical principles that encourage kindness, gratitude, responsibility, wisdom, and Christ-like character in everyday life.

How is our approach different?

We are STRICTLY A PRESCHOOL, NOT A DAYCARE.

Little Sprouts Learn & Play Preschool is designed for families who are looking for an intentional early learning experience—not all-day childcare. Our time together is focused on purposeful, age-appropriate learning that helps children build the academic, social, emotional, and character skills they need for kindergarten and beyond.

TRADITIONAL PRESCHOOL APPROACH

  • Focus on academics too soon

  • Worksheet and rote memorization

  • Passive instruction and screen time

  • One-size-fits-all curriculum

  • Activities without a clear purpose

  • Children aren't truly known

THE LITTLE SPROUTS APPROACH

  • Builds foundational skills in the right order

  • Hands-on, play-based, and interactive

  • Live, engaging classes with a real teacher

  • Personalized instruction for every child

  • Every activity has a purpose and a payoff

  • Children are seen, heard, and celebrated

We don't just plan activities. We build foundations.

Our Connect, Listen, Explore & Grow approach turns purposeful play into meaningful learning—intentionally building the language, literacy, social-emotional, thinking, and independence skills children need for kindergarten and beyond.

Research shows these four areas as the foundation for school readiness and life-long learning.

Connect

  • Build Vocabulary

  • Encourage Conversation

  • Ask & Answer Questions

  • Tell Stories

  • Develop Expressive Language

We are backed by science.

Our curriculum is grounded in evidence-based research from trusted organizations, including The Science of Reading, the National Reading Panel, the National Institute for Literacy, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Harvard Center on the Developing Child.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I call to register my child?

It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!

When does preschool start? Can I enroll mid-year?

We have a 9-month school year (September-May). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.

How old does my child need to be to attend?

Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1.

Does my child have to be potty trained?

Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!

What is your teaching philosophy?

We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!

Are there additional fees during the year?

No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. And your family can come for free too! Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!

What if my child has food restrictions?

No worries. We have worked with students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.

Is the registration fee refundable?

No.

How many students do you have per class?

We have the smallest class sizes in town, so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 5 students per class.
